Happy New Year to you all.

Although maybe I shouldn't be so cheery - I mean, what happened? Rick Astley didn't make it to Christmas No. 1 so you obviously weren't trying hard enough!

But it's a new year so I'll let it pass. This year is going to be a great year for BFZ - as well as all the usual fun and frolics we'll be planning for the long-term future and we'll be doing lots of fundraising. So get your thinking caps on and come up with some good ideas to help us raise money. It's the first day back in the New Year and already we've got £162.11 today. If we can raise this amount every day we might just be able to keep Chantelle's chocolate supplies going for the year!

Hi everyone,

I've just been reminded that I haven't written my blog since September so I thought I'd better take a minute, somewhere between the Orange Cream and the Quality Street Green Triangle, to update you.

Things have been busy at BFZ, with lots of activities during National Anti-Bullying Week and a trip to London because we'd been shortlisted for an award (we didn't win . . . some people obviously don't realise a good thing when they see it!)

Now we're starting to get into the Christmas spirit (no, that doesn't mean Chantelle's hitting the Gin, at least I hope not as it's not even 10.30am yet.) We've got the Christmas Tree up in the office, tinsel dotted around, we've got the CVS panto to attend, and we've got the works Christmas 'Do' to look forward to - yes, credit crunch or not, we are still making the effort this year - it's important and it is the one time they let us loose on an unsuspecting public!

Anyway there's lots of things to be getting on with before I take a few days off, but before I go I've got a very important Christmas message for you. Make sure you take heed . . .

Well...3am is the magic time anyway. Why does my mind seem to go into overdrive at 3am? All my best idea's come at 3am.

Residential eggs-ercise planning = 3am
SI2B (you know what it means) = 3am
Volunteer Action Team Blog = 3am
In-Sync = 3am
Finish Rubicks Clock in 1993= 3am

What's more, i just spent 25 minutes teaching myself xml (dnt worry Chantelle. Just think of it like teaching yourself Polish in 25 minutes) just so i could create BFZ 'gadgets' for In-Sync; put together a draft activity plan for the last week of summer 2008; formulated a training schedule to train the volunteers in vaious aspects of 'new-media' (podcasting, blogging etc); and i've come up with several other inititives i'd quite like to embark upon if i can ever find time in between counting how many hetrosexul volunteers we have and telling the water cooler people that the taps are sufficient for our needs.

Maybe i should come to an arrangement where i start work at midnight and leave at 8am?

It's the After-School Club tonight and I've just had a serious disappointment - nobody apart from Fiona and Alicia knows who Cheggers is. What is the world coming to? Does Cheggers not count as a national institution?

But seriously . . . .
. . . . I was right last week - Chantelle did have a hidden chocolate stash, but not anymore! Plus the office building is now officially tidy, or at least it was until 4pm today when the young people turned up for the after-school club.

Late Spring Clean

Today we're having an energetic spring clean.
Chantelle has been in Blackpool for almost 3 months and on a recent visit to the Bolton office, announced that it was a bombsite and in need of a good tidy. It's amazing what rubbish we have accumulated over the years (and I don't mean the staff!) So no doubt we'll soon be embarking on the first of several visits to the local tip.

However, for now the tidying must go on - I'm still looking for my 'marbles' (I think I lost them a long time ago) and it's a pretty safe bet that Chantelle will have stashes of chocolate hidden away somewhere.
